Who We Are

HUB Michiana is a Christian community group that meets on the second and fourth Fridays of the month to create space for encounters with God.

Our mission is to know our God and Father more intimately; to worship Jesus; to welcome the presence, power, and person of Holy Spirit; to hear anointed teaching from God’s Word; to release prophecy, healing, and miracles; and to experience and facilitate renewal and revival for the purpose of furthering His Kingdom.

"But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you."  //John 14:26

Our Vision

Asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give [us] the Spirit of wisdom and revelation so that [we] may know Him better. Eph 1:17

HUB's vision is to know Him better and to experience and share His Unrelenting Blessings by:

  • Providing an atmosphere for life changing encounters with The Resurrected Jesus Christ.

  • Partnering with Holy Spirit to love people and make disciples.

  • Honoring God and His Presence through worship and anointed ministries.

  • Relating with each other, as one body, to share our giftings, and our love and support.

  • Encouraging and praying for each other, expecting the supernatural blessings to flow.

  • Renewing and refreshing the Body of Christ.

  • Encountering God, individually and together.

  • Strengthening the Body in unity through connections.

  • Fulfilling our Kingdom destiny.

  • Walking together, making every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit, binding ourselves together with peace (Eph 4:3)

How We Began
HUB (His United Body) Michiana

His United Body, His Pursuit, Our Story

As is often the case, God set the foundation for this ministry long before we had any aspirations or expectations of starting HUB Michiana.  For years, most of the HUB leadership team had been in ministry together, working as friends in a local church; seeking the presence, power, and manifestation of the Holy Spirit.  Then in 2018, a transition occurred.  We were given the opportunity to launch a local extension of Chicago HUB.

Chicago HUB (which stands for His United Body) had been in existence for over 20 years at that time, and the leaders (Nancy and Hank Magiera) had received a prophetic word about new associated HUBs developing out of their ministry.  Greg and Rita Bontrager attended a HUB meeting in Chicago around that time and responded to an invitation.  That was all.  When they returned home, they figured that was the end of that.  But a short time later, they received a call from Nancy Magiera, and were given an opportunity to interview for starting a new HUB meeting.  The new meeting would be associated with Chicago HUB, but would meet in a different regional area.  They agreed to have the interview just prior to the next Chicago HUB meeting.

That interview took about two hours.  From that interview, they went into the hotel conference room for the next Chicago HUB meeting.  Although Greg and Rita thought they were under consideration for becoming HUB leaders, the decision had already been made.  To their surprise and delight, they were introduced in the meeting as people who were starting a new HUB meeting in the Goshen-Elkhart area.  Afterward, Greg and Rita returned home and reported to their team what had just happened.  The team was in favor of moving forward with the plan.  And so HUB Michiana began, and soon became incorporated on January 2, 2019.

We started by hosting a dinner meeting on August 24, 2018 at the Essenhaus for area pastors.  Our desire was for them to know what we were doing and why.  We were not starting a church, nor did we want to pull people away from them.  We simply wanted more of God and of His Spirit.  Our mission was “to know our God and Father more intimately; to worship Jesus; to welcome the presence, power, and person of Holy Spirit; to hear anointed teaching from God’s Word; to release prophecy, healing, and miracles; and to experience and facilitate renewal and revival for the purpose of furthering His Kingdom.”

We chose the logo of a grain mill waterwheel.  The hub of the wheel (which brings together people from different ministries), is involved in moving the water (which represents the Holy Spirit).

Our first HUB Michiana meeting took place on Sept. 28, 2018 at Fairfield Inn and Suites in Elkhart, Indiana.  At that meeting, Bruce Van Natta from Wisconsin shared his miraculous story of a near-death experience in which his spirit temporarily left his body.  He described how that experience changed his life.  121 people attended that meeting.

Since then, our meetings have continued; routinely meeting the second and fourth Friday of the month (with the exception of November and December, when we only meet the second Friday due to Thanksgiving and Christmas).  The usual format to the meetings includes approximately an hour of worship, followed by a guest speaker.  Most meetings conclude with a time of prayer and ministry for those who desire it.  Our closing times are not defined, which has given us opportunity at times to borrow a joke often heard at Chicago HUB, that HUB stands for “Here Until Breakfast.”

Our HUB meetings are live-streamed, as well as posted for later viewing.  We are also on Facebook as HUB Michiana (www.facebook.com/HUBmichiana).
